Framing Our Days
The foundation of a happy and healthy lifestyle starts with having a solid routine. Having a routine can set the tone for the rest of day by focusing on your mind and body. It also allows us to use our time intentionally and wisely. Here are some tips how to set up your routine.
What you choose to do in the morning routine sets the tone for the entire day. Mornings are the best time of the day to something for yourself. It can be making a delicious breakfast, making your bed, getting ready for work.
Your evening routine is everything you do from the minute you get off of work till bed time. Usually, we enjoy the evenings to wind down and prepare for the next day. At the end of the day you should be proactive and take accountability.
Jot down your current routine
This will help give you visual how your day looks. Write down the activities in half hour or hour increments.
Include your goals
Its important to decided how you want to spend your time during your morning and evening. Think about the habits you have always wanted to include to make your day better. For example:
Layout a Plan
Create a basic outline on how you want your routine to look from morning to night, even include your work schedule and leave time for your commute. Having a plan will keep you on track.
5:00am - 6:00am: Wake up, drink water, make the bed
6:30am - 7:20am: Workout
7:30am: Breakfast, get ready
8:30am: Start work for the day
5:00pm: Finish work
6:00pm: Go for a walk
6:40pm: Make dinner, tidy up the home
8:00pm - 9:00pm: Shower, get ready for bed
You have to keep practicing implementing your routine into your life. It takes time to make create new habits, but try to stick to it and see what changes you can make in your routine. Don't hold yourself to some standard that doesn't work for you. Design routines that are made for you.
Lastly treat yourself
Once you get used to your new routine on a consistent basis do something for yourself. You earned it.
